This is very short notice we know, but there’s a good reason…..after many attempts not to and much wrangling we’ve had to move venue at the last minute as our regular one double booked…so, here’s a map to the lovely Prince of Wales
Patch and the Giant play lovely self-penned songs and Hannah will be debuting some of her solo stuff that she’s been working on quietly – this will be an evening of firsts with our kind new hosts pitching in at the last minute.

This Monday the 2nd of May at 8pm we have the pleasure of presenting The Bonfire Radicals with support from Auriga. Entry is free.
Fast becoming well-known in Birmingham The Bonfire Radicals are a fresh new band with a distinctive, adventurous sound. Following the success of their first ever gig at the Hare and Hounds in Kings Heath last February they have been booked in for Moseley Folk Festival in the summer and are playing at the MAC in Cannon Hill Park for May Day Re-imagined tomorrow. Already working on their first EP these guys promise to deliver a fantastic show – check out their spine-tingling version of I Wish:
The eight piece ensemble formed after playing together in various guises over a period of four years including the fantastic training ground of Joe Broughton’s Conservatoire Folk Ensemble.
Supported by Auriga at 8pm the doors open at 7:30pm.

With classics from the likes of Hank Williams and Johnny Cash, this Birmingham based country band is sure to get you dancing and yodelling like a true Hillbilly!
Hello hello, its been another long while but to no avail, good friend of Urban Fox Kathryn Hill has organized a gig with us, check it out below:
Kathryn is in her final year at Birmingham Conservatoire and has tasked herself with organising this gig as part of her fourth year major project. She has given two newly formed bands (including her own, Bechod) a platform to perform that they could struggle to find otherwise in a bid to promote new music on the Birmingham scene.
A bit about the bands:
The Katrina Grinhofa Trio
Katrina Grinhofa, PJ Wright, Mat Davies, and Edd Frost (Little Jonny England, The Dylan Project, Clarion) are a new and exciting band forming from several experienced, well known and well loved musicians. They come together tonight in this line up for the first time with a view to recording an album in the coming months.
Bechod
Iestyn Evans , Merry Evans, Rebecca Park, Mary Stokes and Kathryn Hill formed as a band in October 2010 as part of Making Music South East’s project/course – Form a Folk band. Over a three month period, they were coached by elite musicians of the folk world, including; Jim Moray(Jim Moray); Pete Flood (Bellowhead); and Paul Sartin (Bellowhead, Belshazzar’s Feast). They took the knowledge that was passed on and formed Bechod. The band has recently been in the studio to record their f demo with the aim of getting a few gigs festival slots, with some success, having already have gained a slot at the Oxford Folk Festival.
Hello all, you may have noticed it has been a bit quiet/sporadic on the Urban Fox front but do not fret, we are taking a bit of time over Christmas to re-group but will be back in force early in the New Year with some exciting local acts. So keep an ear to the ground and we’ll let you know whats happening shortly.
On 6th October at 7.30pm Urban Fox Folk Club opens its doors again and welcomes the fabulous Old Dance School with support from Jack McNeill and Charlie Heys for just £5!… I know, outstanding! Get on down for a one-off gig full of beauty, surprise and down right awesome music.
Its getting very close to our next gig and we have a very important announcement to make…..Tim Van Eyken can’t make it (he’s very sorry!) but we have managed to secure the amazing BELSHAZZARS FEAST to fill his shoes.
